Welcome to my website that's all about Stars

Here I am going to tell you all about stars and how they are formed.

What is a star?

A star is a luminous, ball of plasma that is held together by its own gravity. As we all know the closest star to us and only sar in our solar system is the Sun. Star are born within clouds of dust called nebulas.

How are stars formed?

There are two types of stars. A low-mass star and a high-mass star. I am going to explain the way a low-mass star like our Sun is formed.

1. Stars are born into a nebula.
2. Huge clouds of dust and gas collapse under gravitational forces, forming a protostar.
3. Converts hydrogen into helium in its core.
4. The star becmes a red giant, the core becomes hote nough for helium to react to form carbon.
5. As the core runs out of hydrogen and then helium, the core contracts and the outer layers expand and cool.
6. The star loses gas from its outer layer.
7. Star contracts back to normal size and becomes stable again.
8. Outer layers expand again and are driven off entirely in a shell of gas called a planetary nebulae.
9. The carbon core becomes exposed and is a white dwarf.
